Jesus putting the pieces of our lives together
Throughout the day, kids will participate in puzzle-themed activities that connect to the closing worship rally where the large puzzle display will be assembled together.

CREW LEADERS
Thank y’all again for serving as crew leaders during our One Day Kids Camp on Thursday, June 4. Y’all are one of the MOST important parts of the day because you’ll be building relationships with the kids and helping everything run smoothly from start to finish.
Each crew leader will be responsible for a group of approximately 5–7 kids throughout the ENTIRE day.
Kids will wear colored bracelets to identify what crew they’re in, and your job will be to stay with your group at all times as you move from one section to the next.

helping kids stay engaged and participate

encouraging participation during worship and Bible study

The overall camp theme is based on Ephesians 2:8–10 and the idea of puzzle pieces. The emphasis is that life feels incomplete without Jesus, but He is the One who puts the pieces together and gives our lives purpose.
Below is the Bible study template we’ll be using as the foundation for the lesson. Please feel free to adapt it to fit your age group and personality. More than anything, we want kids engaged, participating, and hearing the Gospel clearly.
ONE DAY KIDS CAMP BIBLE STUDY
“The Missing Piece”
📖 Ephesians 2:8–10
MAIN IDEA
Life feels confusing and incomplete without God, but Jesus is the One who puts the pieces together and gives our lives purpose.
INTRO
Hold up several loose puzzle pieces.
Ask:
• Can you tell what picture this is?
• What happens when puzzle pieces are missing?
• Have you ever worked hard on a puzzle and couldn’t find the final piece?
Say:
“A puzzle without all the pieces feels incomplete.”
“Sometimes life feels that way too.”
LIFE WITHOUT GOD
Scatter puzzle pieces in your hands or on the floor.
Say:
“Without God, life can feel confusing, broken, and messy.”
“People try to fill the missing pieces with:
• popularity
• sports
• money
• stuff
• friends
• attention”
“But none of those things can complete the picture.”
Ask:
• Have you ever felt empty?
• Have you ever felt like something was missing?
Say:
“The biggest missing piece in our lives is Jesus.”
JESUS PUTS THE PIECES TOGETHER
📖 Read Ephesians 2:8–9
Say:
“The Bible says we are saved by grace.”
Explain:
Grace means Jesus does for us what we could never do ourselves.
Say:
“We cannot save ourselves.
We cannot fix ourselves.
Jesus is the One who puts the broken pieces together.”
Hold up a puzzle piece and connect it into place.
Say:
“When Jesus comes into your life, things begin making sense.”
Interactive Moment:
Ask:
• Who saves us? → “Jesus!”
• Is salvation earned or a gift? → “A gift!”
YOU WERE CREATED ON PURPOSE

Say:
The Bible says:
“We are His workmanship.”
Explain:
“Workmanship” means masterpiece.
Say:
“God did not create you by accident.”
“He gave you gifts, personality, talents, and purpose.”
Hold up different puzzle pieces.
Say:
“Every piece looks different…
but every piece matters.”
Ask:
• Would a puzzle work if every piece looked the same?
• Would a puzzle work if pieces were missing?
Say:
“In the same way, God made every person differently for a reason.”
SAVED FOR A PURPOSE
Read:
📖 “Created in Christ Jesus for good works…”
Say:
“Jesus did not just save you FROM something…
He saved you FOR something.”
Ask:
• How can kids serve God?
Let them answer:
• kindness
• helping others
• prayer
• worship
• inviting friends
• encouraging people
• obeying parents
Say:
“When Jesus changes your life, your life begins showing His picture to the world.”
CLOSING
Give each child a puzzle piece.
Say:
“This piece may seem small…
but it belongs in the picture.”
“And you belong in God’s plan.”
Final Challenge:
“Without Jesus, life will always feel incomplete.
But when you trust Him, He begins putting the pieces together.”
Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for loving us and saving us by grace. Thank You for creating every child here on purpose. Help us trust You with every piece of our lives. Amen.”
